Cabela's Deer Hunting is a realistic hunting game with a massive selection of deer to hunt in a diversity of different areas. While keeping in the tradition of other popular deer hunting games on the PC, Cabela's Deer Hunting for the PlayStation game console differentiates itself with a greater range of deer types and its realistic rendering of the hunting experience. With changing weather, intelligent deer that catch the hunter's scent, and the detailed natural setting of bushes, trees, streams, hills, and prairies the player is transported into a world where hunting is a sport of strategy, timing, and strength.
Hunting rewards alertness, patience, and self-restraint. It demands stealth, keen vision, knowledge of the quarry and its environment. Those who refuse to learn the ways of the woods are seldom successful. This is the essence of the game.
Features:
- Seven new, large hunting areas with various, interesting terrain types.
( 8 Total Maps)
- Two modes of hunting; Mission Hunt and Quick Hunt modes.
- Mission Hunt presents a series of at least 30 missions or challenges that are increasingly difficult that the player must complete to progress through and eventually win the game.
- Quick Hunt is for quick one-time hunting trips with the goal of bagging a particular type of deer on a specific map.
- Nine different types of deer for the player to hunt, each with its own challenges. Game animals include Whitetail, Blacktail, Desert Mule, Fallow deer, Sitka deer, Axis, Sika, Coues and Rocky mountain mule.
Additionally there will be over a dozen non-game animals populating the environment.
- Improved AL and animations for animals. The behavior of animals will more closely mimic real-life animals, including how the animals react to sound, scent, how they move (head down for grazing, head up/look up and freeze when they sense danger, running vs. walking)
- Fully 3D virtual hunting environment. Watch as day turns to night, or use bad weather to cover your scent (but hide the tracks!).
- Improvements to the real-life rules of hunting and appropriately disciplining the player for hunting at night or for performing other activities, which are considered illegal or immoral.
- 8 weapons from the original; 6 guns and 2 bows for a variety of hunting challenges. Weapons include 12-gauge, .243, .270, .338, .30-60, Recurve Bow, compound bow, and muzzle loader.
We will be making additional specialty guns that the user can acquire by successfully completing levels.
Improvements to the weapon recoil and reload/chamber-the-round animations.
- More use of Cabela's line of hunting gear, including camouflage gear, calls, scents, decoys, blinds, binoculars, ammunition and scopes. This gear will have a more realistic impact on gameplay as well.
- A range of hunters from which to choose. We are attempting to have the ability to create or design a character.
- Photo realistic representation of all firearms and equipment.
- Drive ATVs and snowmobiles throughout the hunting area where appropriate.
- More Map showing the hunting area, as well as vehicle, campsite, lodge, and marker locations.
- Expanded Range of choices player has in selecting clothing, hunting gear, firearms with a greater emphasis on their effect on gameplay.
- A variety of difficulty levels to suit all types of players.
- A health meter for the hunter that decreases under inclement weather, run-ins with dangerous animals, or not eating food or drinking water. The functionality of this will be more directly tied to gameplay in a realistic manner.
- Expanded In-game Hunting Guide.
- The Trophy Beacon and X-ray Option gives less experienced hunters information to find their animal and ensure a clean shot.
In addition to these modes we will be implementing a heat sensitive scope that can be purchased.
- A remodeled cabin-like trophy room with detailed stats on each of the player's kills. There will be a wider variety of information about each trophy.
- Full Analog control of hunter as well as analog button control when using attraction devices.
